Staff Nurse

  • Staff nurses are generally employed on a full-time basis at hospitals or care facilities. They are the most immediate point of patient care, and administer medications and carry out assessments as needed. They must also keep notes regarding patients' care and development, and may create discharge plans for individual patients. Career advancement opportunities for staff nurses include the Nurse Clinician, Nurse Manager and Nurse Educator paths.

Additionally, they may help reduce the burden of patients and their families from incurred social and healthcare costs.

Diagnostic Radiographer

  • Diagnostic Radiographers utilise specialised medical equipment to produce images of a patient's body so that doctors and specialists can analyse them and propose a treatment plan. They have increasingly become the first point of contact for many patients as diagnostic imaging marks the beginning of treatment, and hence must possess people skills and a good bedside manner. The role also requires Diagnostic Radiographers to understand and use high-end systems to process complex data and imaging tools.
