NTUC’s vision is to be an inclusive Labour Movement for all collars, ages, and nationalities. This can be seen through the daily work of our staff members who all serve their purpose in bettering the lives of different groups of workers.
Industrial Relations Officers (IRO) 28-year-old Jagathishwaran Rajo, 27-year-old Mohammad Farid, and 30-year-old Edmund Neo look after the well-being of workers under their care. They act as the voice of the workers, negotiating with employers to push for good and fair employment practices. At the industry level, they work with government agencies and employer associations to find solutions to boost productivity and ensure the long-term viability of wage increases for the workers.

As an Assistant Director of the U Associate programme, 39-year-old Angeline Lee’s work is varied and dynamic. U Associate is an initiative by NTUC to reach out to the Professionals, Managers, and Executives (PMEs) through industry and professional associations to extend Labour Movement’s wide range of benefits and advocacy to PMEs. She strategises win-win collaborations between NTUC and the associations, and collaborates with the U Associates to develop career and skills progression plans for PMEs in the various sectors.
Assisting to build a community of “strong and happy families” in Singapore is 34-year-old Koh Yan Ping, an Assistant Director from the Family Development Unit (FDU). A typical day of work sees her engaging in discussions with her team to review and plan for the many family events that NTUC organises. She also brainstorms and researches on current issues that impact working families so that NTUC can provide better support for them.
